About Dr. Sheldon Bach
Sheldon Bach, Ph.D. is a prominent Contemporary Freudian psychoanalyst who practices in Manhattan. He is Clinical Professor of Psychology, Faculty and Supervisor at the NYU Postdoctoral Program in Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis, a Training and Supervising Analyst at the Contemporary Freudian Society, a Training Analyst (Fellow), Supervising Analyst and Faculty member at IPTAR and a Visiting Lecturer at the New York Psychoanalytic Institute.
Dr. Bach received the Heinz Hartmann Award for "outstanding contributions to the theory and practice of psychoanalysis (2007)." He is the author of numerous articles on psychoanalysis as well as on culture published in both Europe and America. He is also the author of several books, including: The How-To Book for Students of Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy, (Karnac, 2011); Getting from Here to There: Analytic Love, Analytic Process (Routledge, 2006); Narcissistic States and the therapeutic process (J. Aronson, 1985) and The Language of Perversion and the Language of Love. (J. Aronson, 1994).
