“Soar High: Reach your potential in work and in love”
Upon completion of an intake interview you will be assigned a therapist to work with you on your specific needs. Our therapists offer a caring, safe and non-judgmental environment to work toward overcoming problems with anxiety, depression, phobias, eating disorders, relationship difficulties, obsessions, addictions and other issues which interfere with you reaching your maximum potential.
Washington Square Institute was one of the first treatment centers in Greenwich Village. We provide both short and long term individual, couple and group therapy at affordable fees.
Who can benefit from psychotherapy?
A person seeks out treatment when they are experiencing relationship difficulties and problem is building a satisfying career (they feel stuck). A person often enters therapy when they continue to struggle with the same problem for a long period of time, when they find themselves facing a crisis or when they feel dissatisfied with their life; even though they feel that they have everything, there is a realization that something significant is missing.
With the right therapist everyone can benefit from therapy. Therapy contributes to increased awareness and improved self-esteem which leads to enhanced wellbeing and a clearer perspective on life. This often results in increased confidence which lends itself to embracing opportunities for change leading to a more fulfilling life.
Washington Square therapists provide effective treatment for: anxiety, panic attacks, depression, low self-image, inhibitions, trauma, grief, family and relationship conflicts, career issues, identity concerns, life’s transitions, parenting issues, Internet and sexual addictions, eating disorders, creative blocks and obsessive compulsive behaviors.
Finding the Right Therapist
Following an intake interview, an evaluation of the presenting problem and an individual’s needs are considered when making an assignment to one of our specialist. A good fit between you and your therapist is significant and of paramount importance when we assign a therapist.
